Warrior R\G6 & R\G6.1 Trappers
Every goalie will tell you, a very personal piece of gear they own is their trapper. Regardless of which brand they typically use, goalies are obsessed with finding a glove that syncs perfectly with their preferences. To address the fact that the perfect glove is hard to find, in 2022 Warrior Goalie will begin offering two unique models of Trappers - the R\G6 and R\G6.1. The two models will have some similarities – COVEREDGE+ (to maximize coverage), Hypercomp Core (for increased protection) and AxyFlex Tee (for easy closure & maximum tee stability). But the gloves are noticeably different in a few key ways. One of those being each model has it’s own very distinct silhouette shape. The R\G6 (which comes stock with a removable 75° liner and single T) presents a wider catching shape by extending the glove’s dimensions at the thumb for a rounded perimeter shape. In contrast the R\G6.1 (which comes stock with a fixed 75° liner and double T) adds coverage toward the fingers, giving the catching area an oval type shape. The G6.1 coverage benefits you when reaching outward towards a puck, whereas the G6 coverage favors more of the thumb which helps you get a piece of pucks on high shots you might be a little late getting to. This is not a case where you’d say “This one is better and that one is worse.” It’s about determining which of these two models would suit YOUR game best to help you catch more pucks than you currently do today. Which type of coverage would you prefer – A wider catching shape or an elongated catching shape? Let us know in the comments below.
